We've tried to be careful not to infringe anyone's copyright or other properties. Here are some copyright details about this site.

Wizards of the Coast copyrights

Magic: The Gathering is trademarked, patented and copyright by Wizards of the Coast. The character names, the mana symbols, the tap symbol, artwork, and so on, belong to them and we have only used these things in fun, and as a promotion for the game. If they ever complain about this site to us, we'll remove it from the web. We think our usage of these things is fair. This is a non-commercial site intended just to showcase fan-produced fun cards, and seeks nothing more than enjoyment.

Artwork copyrights

We have tried to avoid showing any cards which contain artwork which is under copyright, unless the creator of that artwork has specified a usage policy with which we are in accordance. Where possible, we've tried to use public-domain artwork, such as paintings by Renaissance or Pre-Raphaelite painters whose copyrights have now expired. Hopefully we haven't infringed anyone's existing copyright. If in doubt, we've avoided art which might be under current copyright. If there are any complaints, we may remove any art which is suspect. You may see artist names on some of the cards which contain no art; those artists were our original choices for card artwork, but due to copyright concerns the art was removed.

Cards and Card Rules copyrights

The copyright in the text, invented rules, some card names, and some art, lies with the individual card inventors. Control of card names which utilise characters created by Wizards of the Coast obviously lie with that company. But sometimes we've invented our own characters and card names, and sometimes we've even made our own art. The card background images were created for the MTG GenCard program and they have no copyright, so anyone may use them. The mana symbols, tap symbols, etc are copyright Wizards of the Coast. Accordingly, the invented cards showcased on this site involve a mixture of copyright owners, but for the most part the copyright is split between us and Wizards of the Coast, and no third party.

Fair Usage of Our Invented Cards

In as much as we can legally do so, we grant to amateur Magic players the right to download, print, and play with our invented cards. However, you should seek to discover the official Wizards policy on usage and distribution of fan cards, in case our understanding is incorrect or out of date.

And a word of advice: you may add art of your own choice to these cards, but please check copyright issues before posting images of such modified cards on the web. We'll accept no responsibility if you happen to use our cards in the wrong way. You may be safer to just link to our card images or rulings pages if you really want to reuse our cards on your web site. Of course we hope you'll invent your own cards and your own artwork, and then tell us all about your game-playing experiences!

This is a not-for-profit fun fan site intended to promote interest in Magic, in invented cards, and in game play in general.
